Exercise 6.7 – Find a buddy

Having an accountability buddy means having someone who will check in with you at intervals, keep you on track, and help you along the way, much like a mentor. A buddy can help you to sustain motivation or keep focused on an end goal. Depending on your choice of buddy, they can also up-skill you to have the resources, knowledge and capability to get there. Your buddy might simply cheerlead you.

Research shows that people who write down a goal are 39.5% more likely to achieve their goal. The success outcome boosts to 76.3% when a goal is shared with another person.

Do you have a project you might like support to progress?

Think of someone who is knowledgeable in this area or who inspires and encourages you. Recruit them in the accountability buddy position and seek their help towards this outcome.
